The fruits of three EMC acquisitions are coming together with an integration involving Retrospect backup software, the Mozy online backup service, and Iomega external hard drives.

I am not sure who the bigger winner is after this week's announcement that Iomega rejected EMC's takeover bid: Iomega or customers. Based on EMC's past attempts to enter the consumer storage market space, one would think that consumers are better off because Iomega remained independent.

We tested the latest shipping versions of two popular backup packages: NovaStor's NovaBACKUP Professional 7.2 and Roxio's Backup MyPC Deluxe.
