gotalk declares VoIP war 18/10/2009 12:43:00

IN BRIEF: Aggressive Trans Tasman full service/broadband/VoIP telco gotalk today launched another salvo in the current escalating VoIP price war – hotly disputing competitor Engin’s claim to have “the best offer on the market”. Announcing a range of “improved” VoIP plans today, a confident gotalk CEO Steve Picton said his new plans “will persuade thousands of customers to change service providers.” “We believe our combination of market leading monthly included calling allowances and low calling rates, plus the fact that gotalk customers will no longer have their service suspended if calling inclusions are exceeded, makes gotalk’s VoIP plans virtually unbeatable,” CEO Steve Picton said today. (Visit www.gotalk.com.au for more information or call PR Terry Quinn 0439 710 418 or gotalk CEO Steve Picton on 0416 269 177.)

Grand Theft Auto IV: The Ballad of Gay Tony preview 01/10/2009 11:49:00

Rockstar has a knack for shape-shifting their flagship series. Though all these titles build on GTA games that came before, they've managed to stand on their own as great additions to the series, and its pretty clear now that episode numero dos for GTA IV is no one trick Tony... err, pony.

The greatest open source software of all time 17/08/2009 20:11:00

Every year InfoWorld painstakingly selects its Bossie Award winners -- the best open source software for business -- and every year we have shamefully neglected the very cream of the open source crop. While we've awarded the Dojos, Xens, and SugarCRMs, we've ignored Linux, GNU, and the *BSDs -- because, well, don't their excellence and importance go without saying? In other cases, where open source giants did receive our award (Snort and Wireshark come to mind), a "mere" Bossie almost seems like faint praise.
