Hard drive upgrade

Hi,
Can I install an IDE Hard Drive in a G4 AGP GRAPHICS running
OS: 10.3.9?
I have an internal bay with an IDE connection.
Being a PC person I am just venturing in the world of Macs!
Hope you can help.
Thanks
Annabel

Re: Hard drive upgrade

Of course. There is not much difference between the Mac and PCs when it comes to installing HDDs.
Remember to take out the jumpers on the HDD to make sure both disks don't try to be Disk 0!
I have a similar Powermac G4 as a server with an additional HDD - IDE 200 GB.
Good luck

Re: Hard drive upgrade

Yes, no problem at all.
When you connect the IDE cable and the power to the drive go into Utilities and here into Disk Manager. You have to partition the drive either making one partition of the whole drive or make several partitions with the slider. Any IDE drive will work in your Mac.
