Sharing Internet connection wirelessly
I just got Unwired Wireless Broadband on my pc and now I want to share the Internet connection with another computer wirelessly. The PCs are like 8 metres apart. I am considering buying a wireless router to do this. Can somebody kindly guide me through on how to set it up? Thanks.

Re: Sharing Internet connection wirelessly
Hi Matt,
Buying a wireless router is a good way to do/achieve what you are looking for...
If you are buying a wireless router there is really no way to advise on how to set it up, as the setup/menu's vary depending on the brand of router/access point...
1. What you will need to buy is a wireless router/access point...
2. Make sure all the computers that you connect to have wireless access built in, or you will need to buy wireless adapters also...
3. You may also need a cat5 or cat 6 network cable to run from the Unwired box to the router/access point if you dont have one spare...
Once you have the router you should find a setup guide will be in the box... Follow these directions and you should be away...
Keep in mind - for security reasons it is always worth while running a key share type access point (password based type of connection), and if you know that you want to running lots of different computers on the connection (rather the same few at the location) then sent up 'mac addressing' also... This will give a secured connection point/channel between the router/access point and the computer preventing other outside users from gaining access and using you internet connection...
I tend to stick to Linksys as a preferred brand of router, however Netgear, DLink are also good...
Hope this helps...
