Error: Access Vio;ation (Win XP PRO SP3 installed)

Access violation at 0x004B805F (tried to write to 0x00000000) program terminated.

OK

I get this error message occasionally. Please advise how to correct it.

Hi,

This could be a software conflict due to a program you have recently installed, or it could be faulty hardware (most likley a memory module).

Can you provide some more information? Which programs are you running when you get the error and does it always occur when you perform the same task?

try scanning the harddrives

try scanning the harddrives (thorough, not quick scan) for errors
taking a quick search online mentioned something about a program called hddlife and disk problems
