Possessed computer

The cat stepped on my keyboard of my Dell laptop, and ever since then, the damned thing keeps clicking, the same noise as when I left click something. What keeps happening is that the clicking opens some sort of internet audio files by itself and they start playing over whatever I'm already listening to, or whatever I'm watching online. It only happens when I'm online, but I have to keep the computer on mute if I'm doing school work.

Anyway, the sound comes on, but I don't know how to turn it off! There is no icon or box or anything. Just sound that I can't control. It's driving me nuts! Help!

re: Possessed computer

I think it might be worth checking your antivirus and antispyware software is up-to-date and performing a full system scam -- it may be the cat walking on the computer is just a coincidence and not related (speaking as someone with cats that often try to walk on my keyboard!)
