forumkeep,
The speed of your internet gaming could be from a number of things.
Your internet (line connection) speed with your ISP.
What type of connection do you have?
Dial up?
ADSL1?
ADSL2?
Other?
If you also have any other internet based apps running while you are trying to game online this could be using up a lot of your bandwidth, which will also cause slow ping times etc. Make sure you are not running anything such as Limewire, BitTorrent or other Download programs, also running Windows updates or AV updates etc will eat your bandwidth.
Make sure there is no other internet activity.
Also check that you are connection to the nearest gaming server to your location. ie- if your in Australia try to connect to an Australian based server. This will give you a better gaming experience also.
Check all your internet based settings as well for the connection, along with the settings for the game.
Try to test your internet speed at a site like - www.speedtest.net and see what you come up with on the download speed, as well as the upload speed.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
