Not getting full image display on web pages

Images don't show

I'm also experiencing this problem on my user settings. Sometime ago I changed something so not all colour would display and therefore would speed up my internet download time. But now I want to see all images and I cannot remember what to undo. On my daughters settings she has all images displayed so I can check her settings but don;t know where to start - can someone help?
