Exiled from Exile (2 posts)

I have purchased Exile, the sequel to Myst. After my initial installation, the game ran for a short time, and then I got the Blue Screen. This happened several times before I decided to try updating the driver for my video card. I have a TNT2-64 NVIDIA, which is one of the recommended cards for this product. This did not work either, so I tried re-installing the game. Now, all I get is the initial screen where I click PLAY and then after a couple of attempts, I get error messages such as:

M3 caused an invalid page fault in module ~DE3888.TMP at 0167:00c7334c. Registers: EAX=00000800 CS=0167 EIP=00c7334c EFLGS=00010206 EBX=00000000 SS=016f ESP=0073ee2c EBP=0073ef20 ECX=00ca0078 DS=016f ESI=00000004 FS=120f EDX=0073eeac ES=016f EDI=00ca09a8 GS=0000 Bytes at CS:EIP: a1 74 40 c9 00 50 e8 69 44 01 00 83 c4 10 e9 2d Stack dump: 0073eeac 00ca0078 00000800 00c8cc6b 00000004 0073fde0 00db0900 00000002 0073ee78 00000000 00000000 00c73060 00000005 00000005 000007b1 00013810 sometimes referring to different temp files. I wondered if deleting these temp files would fix the problem?

I have tried setting the Supplemental Cache to small and have reduced hardware acceleration as advised, but to no avail. I am greatly disappointed with the fact that the game will not run correctly and wonder if any one else has had the same complaint.
I contacted Ubisoft in America who suggested they could not provide technical support to anyone outside the country and suggest I get in touch with Ubisoft in Australia.

If you have any constructive suggestions, I'd be interested in hearing them.

My system is a 10GB Celeron, 128MB RAM, NVIDIA video card, 48x CD-ROM, 56k Conexant modem, Creative Vibra 128.

Re: Exiled from Exile

I have much the same problem with a game I purchased called Delta Force Land Warrior. After the intial instiation I could not get back to the game at all and received a blue screen of death for my efforts. I have exatcly the same video card as yourself and downloaded the latest Detonator3 drivers from the Nvida site but they didn't help so I contacted the manufacturer of the game and recived a message saying that with the latest high speed machines the BIOS was having trouble with the AGP bus and they suggest I contact the manufacturer of my motherboard and have them help me apdate my BIOS but they never answer. Might help though.
