Infinite loop error (2 posts)

Does anyone know how to cure the infinite loop error, as at the moment I am experiencing it? During games my computer will automatically restart, screen may go black, game may crash to the desktop.

I have tried updating my drivers and motherboard drivers, turning fast writes on and off, turning AGP down and up, however none of this fixes my problem.

My system specs are:
CPU: Amd Athlon 64 3200+
Videocard: GeXcube Radeon 9800XT AGP 8x
RAM: 1024Mb DDR PC3200 400 Mhz Hynix
Motherboard: GA K8NNXP Motherboard with nForce 3 Chipset
Hard drive: 120G SATA Seagate with 8mb cache 7200rpm
Case with 400W PSU
OS: Windows XP professional

Re: Infinite loop error

I had the same problem with a 9600XT. I exchanged the first card for another one (both brand new) and still had the same problem. Apparently with Radeon cards, it is not always a good idea to run the latest driver. You may need to roll back to previous driver versions or even find a 3rd party driver for your card.

I fixed my problem by buying an NVidia card.
