How do I disable those annoying video ads that appear on almost every web page I download these days. Some I can stop after they have started, others just carry on. I'd rather have them blocked so they don't even load. Thanks.

Firefox has a good add blocker.
Firefox with "AdBlock Plus" and "NoScript" add-ons. It kills every ad of every kind, and you can choose to whitelist sites temporarily or permanently. If sent up right, these will also block various trojans that are being planted on websites using 1x1 pixel iframes.
