Re: Spell Checker Outlook Express 6
Does your second disk that boots up XP have something like works (or Word) as Outlook Express uses the spell checking parts of these programs for itself. You can also get a third party program for spell checking.
Some time ago a reader responded to a question about spell checking and supplied the name of the program. Search the help screen and you may find the additional information. I hope this helps and that other readers may be able to enlighten you some more.

Re: Spell Checker Outlook Express 6
Hi Vernon;
As has already been indicated, Outlook Express uses Word spell-check to fulfill that function. I had 98SE with Office 97 installed and it worked fine, when I upgraded to XP, spell-check ceased to function. It would appear that XP running Outlook Express 6 is incompatible with Word 97 spell-check, because when I purchased Office XP the problem disappeared. If you can install Word 2002 your problem should disappear, perhaps even Word 2000 would be compatible but knowing XP's reputation for incompatibilities (I had to buy another scanner) I doubt it.
A temporary work-around I used was to cut my email content to Word, spell-check it there and re-paste it back into your email. This is a pain for usual correspondence but for important emails like job applications it is an acceptable short-term solution.
Henry.
Re: Spell Checker Outlook Express 6
For your spell check problem try this.
To overcome a problem with relating the MS Word spell-checker to Outlook Express, this .dll is required in Common Files Microsoft Shared Proof.
Obtain a copy of the file csapi3t1.dll and place it in the folder "Program FilesCommon FilesMicrosoft SharedProof".
This file was not installed by office 97 (XP didn't exist then) and is required by OE.
