Padlock on network connections (3 posts)

Hi all

I networked 2 computers for a friend of mine awhile ago and everything was fine until today. He has internet connection from the host pc but not on the other. He is running xp pro on both machines.

I ran create a home network again and both machines are showing a connection but i cannot ping them. The only thing I can see that might be the problem is that the 2 network icons in my network places, 1 to bigpond and the other to the other pc, are both showing a locked padlock on them.

I thought it may have something to do with norton internet security but cannot find anything there. Can somebody direct me in the right direction?

Cheers Alan

Re: Padlock on network connections

If it was working a few days ago use system restore to go back to that configuration. Norton Internet Security may have something to do with it, you may have to let Norton know that the local computers are in the safe list.
