Linux DSL/Ethernet help (2 posts)

I need help desperatly, I need to know how to network Linux and connect my Linux computer to my DSL service! Please respond quickly.

What problems are you having specifically? I am assuming you are using Telstra for ADSL however if you are not this may not help..

To connect to your DSL provider under Linux you need to use a program called pppoe. Your distribution possibly provides a copy on its cd. If it does not, you can obtain pppoe from this page. It requires that you have pppd already installed. Full install instructions for pppoe are also on the above page or you can find them here.

Beyond this it is hard to help you without more information. Who is your ISP? With regard to networking Linux what have you tried? What distribution are you using? What do you want your network to do?
