How do you take an IP V6 classless address and find the applicable range of addresses?

For example, if given the network address 10.1.4.0/22, how would you figure out the valid range of network addresses?

I understand the basic premise of IP V6 but do not know the actual steps to calculating the range of network addresses. Any suggestions on how subnetting works would be great.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You!

Re: CIDR

First 10.1.4.0 is not in IP V6 address, this is standard IP adressing. The /22 means that the 22 most significant bits in the network mask are set to 1 = 255.255.252.0
