My laptop shares resources and the Internet connection (cable) via a peer to peer network. The CAT5 cables are connected via a switch.

About 4 weeks ago, whenever the Laptop is turned on, access to any networked computers is lost. The lights on the switch all go off. About 1hr later, there is service to the Laptop, access to all computers is restored and all is fine. I can't recall installing anything that would have interferred with the network setup.

I am running Windows XP (SP2) on all machines and have tried the following to resolve the problem:

1. Replaced the adaptor on the Laptop.
2. Completed a clean re-installation.
3. Used a known working cable.

If anyone can give me hints as to what to look for, it will be appreciated.
