Wonky wireless (1 post)

Hi all. I am very new at this networking business, so please don't laugh if my question is too silly.

I have a Celeron 1.2, 512mb RAM on Ausus MOBO running Win2kpro with all updates and a Netgear WG311v2 802.11g wireless PCI Adaptor, and a DLink DFE-530TX PCI Fast Ethernet Adaptor. This computer is connected to Bigpond Broadband via an Alcatel Speed Touch USB modem. It also has a Canon S200 USB printer installed. Everything works pretty well for an old thing like this.

I want to connect wirelessly to my other computer, a PIII 733, 512Mb RAM on MSI MOBO running XP SP2 with a Dlink DWL-G510 802.11g wireless PCI network card, so that both can access the NET and each other for photo (or other files) transfer and to share the printer.

Originally I set them up Adhock and they worked sort of untill you rebooted both or either of them. They just would not recconnect until I re ran the set up programs for the two wireless cards, but when they were restarted it was back to NO GO again! A friend sold me a Netgear WG602 Wireless Access point that is now plugged into the network connnector port of the modem. Both computers have great NET connection speeds but they can not see each other. How do I fix?

Bendix.
