Kapersky Antivirus won't uninstall (4 posts)

Hi

I had Kapersky Antivirus installed. I got rid of it (so I thought), but everytime I try to open My Computer through the icon in the desktop, it comes up with Kapersky trying to install itself. Even when right clicking on it to go to properties, Kapersky tries to install again!

I go and open Control Panel, but when I try to open Add/Remove Programs icon it only gives me a blank window after Kapersky Antivirus little window tries again to reinstall it and I had to close the window. So where are my programs windows?

Please...

Crjim.

It would seem that you didn't uninstall it correctly, or the uninstall process failed in some way. Install it again, reboot and uninstall. Should fix.

Re: Kapersky Antivirus won't uninstall

When I want to get rid of a program I use a free program called CCleaner (stands for Crap Cleaner). It is great. Go to - http://www.ccleaner.com/

It has heaps of functions in it including an uninstaller..

I had the same thing happen to me with a different AV. For whatever reason, these programs won't just leave quietly. I think the antivirus company Sophos offers a removal tool for other AV products. Do some poking and I am sure you'll find it.
