Hi
I would like some advice on replacing my iPAQ that has just died after 3 years. I have read your reviews and have learnt alot, but the emphasis on network connection such emails is not relevant for me and I can't seem to distill the super basic information that I need.
My requirements are: - it will be purchased with my own money but I use it at work to sync with my work and home computer - Calendar and tasks and contacts are essential. This is what I use my iPAQ for the most - to be organised. - syncing with Microsoft Outlook is essential and it must be seamless. - I read Word documents and the occasional Excel. - I don't use it to read emails - I currently use an old prepaid Nokia (so old that it doesn't have graphics) which will need replacing in the next while I expect. I like it's navigation whereas others need to be drilled down too far to get the info. I only use it when I can't use a landline and for txt messages. I try to keep cost down as much as possible - accessing the Net is not important though I may use it now and then if it had the capability.
I am thinking of:
1. buying a cheaper HP to replace my current one and not activating the phone so using it as I currently do and then replacing it again when my phone stops working.
- Going back to a Palm which I used before my iPAQ, though I went to an iPAQ because I had so many problems syncing with Outlook so would be reluctant to go down this path unless the bugs are well and truly ironed out. The Palm setup in some ways was better than the iPAQ.
Any ideas? - it seems like a Smartphone is way over the top for my needs but maybe there is a suitable one.
Many thanks Kira
