Peer networking (2 posts)

I am trying to peer network a laptop with XP Home and a desktop computer with XP Prof SP2 with a cross over cable.

I enabled Internet sharing on the desktop (which connects by dialup to ISP).

Internet on the desktop is OK, but I cannot connect from the laptop. I can ping one machine to the other and vice versa. I can see the shared folders both ways.

I disabled firewalls on both machines, but still no go. Can anyone help me please?

Re: Peer networking

Rao,

Connect to the Internet using your desktop PC.

Once your dial up connection is up and running, THEN run the Internet Connection Sharing Wizard.

Give that a go.

Regards,

Daniel
