backup floppy (1 post)

g'day all. Doing a full system and file backup in XP Pro, requires a floppy (to initiate the rescue). How many computers have floppy drives these days? My Laptops certainly don't - what's the answer there? But back to the floppy ... my desktop has a floppy drive but when the time comes, the process doesn't recogniose the floppy disc. Nothing wrong with drive or discs(?) I'm after the easiest, dummy proof, way to backup evrything. If I lose or break my computer, I'ld like to get it all back, as it was. Am I being naive? I've looked at backup software but am not certain they actually include the entire system. One program required a cd to initiate the restore - but I couldn't find the instructions for making this cd ?! suggestions please. thanx - Jay

PS: unlike XP Pro, XP Home doesn't have the backup tool. The solution to my problem needs to apply to Home & Pro.
