Last year I bought a Panasonic Camcorder.
The packaged software was MOTIONDV STUDIO LE for DV. The software works OK.
When I open the folder I see a number of sample images in Bitmap also no problem.
Then I find a number of what I assume are sample video files in SBG format. I have searched and googled everywhere with the same reply NO SUCH FILE. I have tried different media players but none recognise the SBG extn.
Please Help,
Paul Ward

Re: What is an SBG file
Paul,
What file extension does your software use? Try that.
You can always change the file extension or (if in XP) open with another video program.

Re: What is an "SBG" file
Hi, Nathaniel here. Try changing **.SBG to other formats Like .mov. I reccomened trying .avi first. I hope that works for you.
Nathaniel.

Re: What is an SBG file
Paul,
a suggestion - If you do find out what it is - report your findings to filext.com with the details to help those that may come after you.
Cheers

Re: What is an SBG file
I downloaded the owners manual for your Motiondv Studio software and it states that these files are sample audio files. You should be able to open them within Motiondv Studio.

Re: What is an SBG file
There ain't no such thing, which suggests that these files are actually part of the program rather than pictures. Dunno. Mail me one and I will have a look.

Re: What is an SBG file
I also have Panasonic SD Studio and have managed to load these files into Gold Wave. GW doesn't know the spec, but does let you set various parameters. The best I came up with is: (1) File type- snd or raw (2) Attributes - PCM signed 16 bit little endian mono (3) Sample rate 64KHz. Hope this helps.

Once a video is on the mounting track, a .sgb sound file can be drag and drop
to the sound track (gray with lot of .sgm marking).

Audio File Conversion for input to Panasonic Motion STUDIO 1.3E.
I installed 'Switch Sound File Converter' on Vista Home Premium running Panasonic Motion STUDIO 1.3E.
This enabled me to convert my audio souce file to a PCM (uncompressed) .WAV file with the following encoding:
Audio sample size: 16 bit
Channels: 2 (stereo)
Audio sample rate: 48 kHz
File extension: .wav
The resulting .WAV file was then draggable to the project folder icon in the editor and a large 'AUDIO' icon appeared when the audio attribute was selected.
The 'AUDIO' icon when selected could then be added to an existing video clip in the video/audio assembly bar at the bottom of the edit screen.
'Switch Sound File Converter' integrates well with Motion STUDIO 1.3E with an audio conversion option appearing when the 'audio' view of a music folder is opened.
