CPU problem (3 posts)

When I play World of Warcraft, my PC crashes, a blue screen shows and does a mem dump. My cpu runs at 100% when I am playing.

My processor speed is 1.5GHz Intel Celeron.

My PC runs okay any other time, it only does this when I play World of Warcraft.

The best place to get this question answered would be on WoW's support site.

Re: CPU problem

CPU is low end for gaming. How much RAM and how is your swap file set up? Your memory cops a real workout when gaming - a fault in the high registers is possible. Download and run memtest86 to be sure. CPU gets the same treatment and as a result may be overheating. Check the CPU fan is spinning freely and that the heatsink is clear of dust. (Use a torch to see).

Really need to know what the blue screen error is. Turn off automatically reboot. Start - Control Panel - System - Advanced. Startup & Recovery. In Settings, untick Automatically Restart. Post back with the details of the error message the next time it happpens.
