Any way to fool a computer about its RAM? (3 posts)

Games these days need RAM. I skimp on RAM. Recently I got a graphics card so I have 256mb of RAM well.... being RAM. But my other computers don't have that luxury and I was wondering if there is any way to fool a computer (or at least windows) into thinking it has more RAM? Most games don't actually USE the amount of RAM it says on the box, but the installer for most of them won't let me install without that amount of RAM.

<>. You may have gained video RAM, but this is not system RAM. Buy some more - it is cheap and your system will run properly. If you don't have enough, it will swap out to the hard drive, which is about 1000 times slower. To run high end games on XP, you should run 512MB. 128/256 is enough for 98.

Chris, i meant that when i got the graphics card i didn't have to devote any main RAM to integrated graphics.
