Rip pics from VCD (7 posts)

I have a VCD with a slideshow which runs OK in my DVD player but won't open on the computer. I would like to save some of these pictures. Can somebody tell me how to get to them? Thanks in Advance

Re: Rip pics from VCD

PowerDVD has a screen capture facility. Play the movie, freeze, step to the required spot and snap. Easy.

Andy,

What do you want with the pictures? If you want to print you'll be extremely disappointed as the pictures are only screen resolution at best and unsuitable for printing.

Another way to get the VCD to play on your computer is to copy it and then use the copy on your computer.

Thank you both Chris and Dick.

When you say copy the VCD Dick, wouldn't the copy be exactly the same as the original and therefore also refuse to open in the computer? The pics may be of little quality but they are they are somewhat historical.

Re: Rip pics from VCD

Andy,

I had an instance where a mate burnt a CD for me and it would play on my PC but NOT in a CD player as it had not been finalised. Re-burnt and finalised solved the problem.

There could also be an issue with the DVD media being not necessarily suitable for your burner/reader.

Another possible suggestion is that, if it has been burnt using NERO, the person who compiled it may have added the pictures in another folder. Have a look under explorer.

Thanks Dick, I will try and get a finalised version
