nvidia pixel problem (3 posts)

I have just bought a midion system with a geforce 6610xl PCI express graphics card. My problem is that when I install any recent games such as halo and doom 3 there are a stream of grey pixels on the screen during gameplay. I have tried altering all the settings and have updated my cards driver to the most recent version. It plays other games ok such as farcry. What could the problem be?

Re: nvidia pixel problem

Could it have anything to do with the fact that i have a compaq s710 monitor and that the pixel problem only sarts when a weapon is drawn and the cross hairs appear on screen? Everythings fine up till then.

Re: nvidia pixel problem

Could your version of directx be the issue? Is it the one that shipped with the machine?

I don't think your monitor is the issue but I do know of a Medion Machine which would not talk to an Aldi Widescreen Plasma TV except at 640x480. No help from Medion for this issue has been forthcoming for my frustrated friend.

Being cynical I would say that the manufacturer has had to make some compromises with the Hardware in order to get it down to the price. Can you find the 6610xl on the nvidia site? Could it have been made especially for inclusion in budget PC's?
