CD tray not opening (2 posts)

The CD tray on my notebook will not open. I'm pretty sure there is no disk in there, but the light blinks like there is. I don't want to break it but how can I fix this? Thanks.

a couple of suggestions

Hey Jillybean,

A few things to try:

-Reboot your machine and see if that fixes the problem. -Go to your My Computer window, right click on your CD drive and select Eject -You can manually eject your CD tray by inserting a pin or paper clip into the small hole on the front of your CD tray -You can also try reinstalling your CD-ROM drivers
