I am trying to install Mafia however on the last section of the second disk (there are three)the installation meter stops and will go no further.

I have win 98
256 megs of ram
AMD 800 cpu
40 speed CD Rom x7.200rpm
64 meg Nvidea Gforce 2 400 MX video card

Can somebody help me so that I can install this game

Hi John,

I had the same thing happen to me with the game 'Driver'. Guess those drive around and cause havoc games are a problem!

Seriously, in my case I had a corrupted file on the game CD and didn't realise it until it was too late to replace the thing.

Before going into a panic, however, there are a few things to check out.

Has your CD got fingerprints or dirt on it?

Have you disabled virus scanners and the like before you tried installing the game? They can sometimes interfere with installation.

Is your hard drive getting too full?

Did you wait long enough? Sometimes a game can be installing a large file, and the meter will appear to be stopped for a while.

Does the game install OK on another machine?
