Networking through dial-up modem (4 posts)

I have two computers. One with XP home with SP2 and the other one ME. They both have a modem and can both connect to the internet but I would like to setup a network by going through the modems so that they can both share files and both be on the internet at the same time.

Is there anyway that I can do this? I'm on a dial-up through telstra bigpond dial-up residential.

Any help would be appreciated Cheers ^_^

Re: Networking through dial-up modem

No. You need a crossover network connection, which requires a network card in both pcs. They may already be in place.

Don't bother trying to share a dial-up connection as it dosen't work well and will slow the speed to less than 56kps.

even two cheap WiFi USB keys/sticks would be a better option. I recently purchased 2 on ebay for $40. Saves running CAT5 cable around the place
