Image problem (3 posts)

I transfered photos onto a disc, now when I try to show them on a new computer they show in the extension sig and don't come up. What have I done wrong?

Re: Image problem

The extension is .sig? This suggests the files were created in Broderbund Photo Gallery. Unreadable if you don't have the program installed. You need to grab the photos in their original format, probably jpg or possibly bmp. If you don't have the originals you will have to install the program and convert them.

Hint: Always save the originals as they come off the camera. If you don't you will finish up losing quality (at best) or the lot (at worst).

Re: Image problem

Does this happen on the computer that transfered the files?

1. If so, you can copy the files back on a hard drive and change the extension to .jpg or whatever they where in the first place and you should see them.

If that does not work as I have never had this problem, try this web site.

http://www.fileinfo.net/extension/sig

or just search for .sig

2. If not, then the new computer has a problem with extensions. You can search the microsoft site on how to fix computers with extension trouble.

That is all I can think of at this time.
