Modem/router connection (4 posts)

I am trying to get an Alcatel Speed Touch Home modem to work with a Netcomm NB2800 router. I have been told that the modem needs to be configured to bridge mode but the IP address for the modem-10.0.0.138 - seems to be inaccessible. Has anyone come across this problem and found a solution?

Re: Modem/router connection

Have u tried connecting modem to router with a crossover cable? I tried this with my SpeedTouch Modem and it worked. Read http://www.ozcableguy/alcatel.html for a lot of information about routers/modems...

Re: Modem/router connection

Re: Modem/router connection

If your modem is already in bridged mode you wont be able to log into it. You can do a factory reset and then plug it directly to your PC. Then set it in bridged mode, then add the router in and enter your connection details into the router. You may need to power down the devices (power totally out for 1 minute) to allow themselves to adapt to the new environment after each change.
