I read the Sound tools thing in the oct 02 issue and found it very interesting. But what I'm asking about is, are there any programs out there that will simply play mp3s and cds and are setup (like a studio rack)?
I really like the idea of having a virtual studio rack.

When you say "studio rack" are you refering to an effects rack or more to the aesthetic of a modular system?
If you are talking about a studio style effects rack then you should check out AdaptX for Winamp here.
