motorola razr v3 - error insert sim card (9 posts)

lately the error message 'insert sim card' keeps showing up but the sim card is in, it has never come out. pulling out the sim or the battery and putting back in doesn't fix this. what else can be done?

Sim card error

Have you tried with a different sim card in your mobile? If a different SIM card does work, you should go to your mobile provider and ask for them to replace you SIM card.

Alternatively, it could be your mobile that is faulty and you may need to send it in for repairs.

a few tips

Make sure no dust or dirt has got on the sim card or the contacts. If so, clean them.

If you have another sim card available, try it in your phone and see if the error goes away. If it does, then the problem is probably with your sim card.

You could also try your sim card in another phone and see if it works there.

If the problem points to your phone, you could try using something like a piece of paper on top of the sim card so that it gets pushed down more and makes better contact.

If the problem points to your phone and the paper trick doesn't work, you will need to either get it repaired or replaced. If it isn't under warranty anymore, getting it replaced is probably the more cost effective option.

Cheers.

Error Message

I'm also getting message "Insert Sim Card" on my Motorola Razr. I can take the battery out and reinsert it and it works after that. Then a few days later I'll get the same message. This must be a common problem with this phone brand.

Have you found a solution

This just happened to me lost all data from sim, it says check sim or insert sim. What did you do?

insert sim card

I have had this problem on two razrs. Both the phone and the card went bonks at the same time. for no reason. phone had a great display but no functions and when i took the card out and the battery to see if the phone would reset itself, then a message began to pop up that said INSERT SIM when the sim was in he phone.

I TOOK THE PHONE TO BEST BUY WHERE A REGIONAL ATT GUY WAS AND HE SAID THE PHONE WAS TOAST AND SO WAS THE CARD. He said the card was slightly bent. Why, I have no idea. It worked until the phone went wacky.

He made me a new card and I bought a cheap Samsung go-phone and everything was fine but i lost all my contacts and had to reprogram everything.

I missed my RAZR so bought a V3xx on Ebay. Phone looks brand new but I pop the sim card i from the Samsung and a message pops up that says INSERT SIM ... not only that but on the display screen it says UNREGISTERED SIM.

It is the SIM that the ATT guy made for me and has been working fine in my Samsung. So it's Sunday and i am frustrated and can't get ATT on th phone and folks..you might as well go to KENTUCKY FRIED CHICKEN for answers about your phone problems than go to an ATT store. Useless, know nothing, part time school kids who know nothing about phones except that "this one is cute and that one is too big".

I droped my cell and with i turned it back on it said insert SIM and i took it out but it when i looked at it, it looked dented does that affect the chances of repair?

I've been having the same problem, but I now think I know the cause. I have left my RAZR in my car when I go to practice golf. The car gets very hot and so does the RAZR. I come back to my car to check for any missed calls and all I see is "Insert SIM" - this has happened 3 times now. I turn the phone off, drive home while holding it directly in front of the cold air conditioning. By the time I get home and turn the phone on again it's works perfectly.

It's a heat related problem. The phone needs to chill out!!!

This problem is solved by replacing a new battery
