I have adsl Broadband (Optus, modem d-link 302G). I've just installed a Linksys router with wireless/wired & engin ready voice box. The installation of the router went smoothly. However, my internet connection now keeps dropping out and I have to go through a complicated unplugging the modem, then unplugging the router and vice versa to get the internet going again. I've activated my Engin (voip) account but as the internet keeps dropping out nothing is happening.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Should I re-install the router installation CD or do something else with my settings? Prior to this my internet connection was great.
Thanks

this question may be a bit specialised for this forum and you have not offered much info. Why dont you try http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-threads.cfm?f=9 and if you do then include a bit more info like what version of windoze, what model router and be prepared to supply more than this.
Dont bother asking Optus as they and most ISPs dont want to know what's happening beyond the modem.

Re: Router install, internet drops out
Dear Chris
Just a suggestion: when the connection dropped off, were you using Internet over wireless connection? if so, maybe you want to try with wired connection, sometime it could be the wireless issue.
