When I try to start the game a window with message "cd/dvd emulation software detected disable emulation software"

(a)what is emulation software
(b)how do I find it and diable it

System I'm using: xp pro sp2, athlon 2600, 512ram.

You must have some sort of burning software on the computer like Alcohol 120% or Clone CD or an emulation tool like Daemon Tools. Uninstall all 3 programms if you have them on there and you should have no more pop-ups like the ones you are getting now.

I had the same problem. so I uninstalled alcohol120, nero, etc etc and it still gave me the same error. In the end I used a nocd patch to play the game.

On later reflection I think the error may have come up because I have my dvd rom set to drive letter R: and my dvd writer set to Drive letter W: I think CoDUO may insist that the cd or dvd rom is the next letter after the last hard drive. So if you have hard drives C: and D: then your physical CD/DVD must be E:.
