I have a 533mhz celeron sitting on a intel CA810E, a Net gear FA310TX,192 mb Ram,Win Xp pro sp2 connected to an old ibm aptiva mini tower with a 500mhz pentium II, a Intel Pro 100/s ethernet adaptor with 256+64mb ram running Win98se.
The problem is that I have setup every measly cable right, but the two computers will not connect to each other. The First Boot after i set them up they worked, (when the 533mhz was 98se) so I decided to setup ICS. It needed a reboot, so I did and now all I get "Request timed out"!

Re: Request timed out
This may not solve everyone's problem with networking, but this is one way to fix a problem if you can't connect to user’s computer. 1. Click Start button. 2. Click "My Network Places". 3. Right-click and click on "Properties". 4. Right-click on "Local Area Connection" and click on "Properties". 5. Click on the "Authentication" tab. 6. Uncheck "Enable network access control using IEEE 802.1X". 7. Click "OK".
Then go here and keep this handy if you decide you want it , the link below is for the Faq's, just click on home to see over all info.
