MAME saying to insert Coin! (3 posts)

I Play some games with MAME and alot of them say "Insert Coin" and I can't play them. How can I bypass this. The games are Super Mario Bros 1, 2 and 3. My Pentium 133 has never asked me to "Insert a Coin" other than this. Windows 98SE 32MB RAM 811MB HDD

As MAME emulates arcade games perfectly, it even emulates the coin functionality of such games. The key you will need to press to 'insert a coin' varies depending on the number of players a game supports. If the game is a two player game (as most are) you will need to press the '3' key a few times, each time you press it the credit meter should increase. If the game is a 4 player game try pressing '5'. The keys before the key to insert a coin (ie 1, 2...) are the start buttons for each player. Hope this helps..
