I have just cancelled my AOL internet access. How do I completely clean up the program so I have no mess. Also, is there anything I need to do in control panel to keep from trying to access a dial-in system? Currently I have broadband access. Sometimes when I am on certain sites (i.e. craigslist) and try to respond to a listing, it will ignore my broadband access and switch over to AOL dial-up. Can anyone help?
Thanks.

Re: AOL cancellation
For the second part of your question...
In Internet Explorer
Tools>Internet Options>Connections
then click on
Never Dial a Connection.
That should fix that part.

Re: AOL cancellation
You'd be far better off if you formatted your hard drive and installed an AOL free O/S (XP PRO SP3 or VISTA SP1). You wouldn't have a mess then. Once installed, configure your 'net access with the Network Setup Wizard.

Re: AOL cancellation
For dial up keeps coming up go to Tools, internet options,Connection tab, put a check in "Never Dial a Connection" make sure you dsl provider is in the box. AOl should not be in there if it is delete it.
Now for removing aol pick out one here>>>

Re: AOL cancellation
AOL can be a pain. You might want to give their tech service a call and explain the problem. They may or may not help you.
I don't know how you canceled the service but make sure they know it has been canceled. When I did NOT call them I ended up paying an extra month.
You also did not say what OS you are using. If you have XP, you may want to consider reinstalling XP and that will wipe out any information concerning AOL. If your broadband is cable, XP will recognize it and connect automatically.
Good luck what ever you decide.
