I got a mac running snow leopard, and sometimes when I open a new window, like when I double click a hard disk or folder, on the left side under "network" appears a little globe with the name of a web site I visited... or sometimes other things, with names I can't recognize.
Is there any danger to this? I'm quite worried about this thing, I don't know what it means or how to stop it.
Any help is appreciated.

To delete an offending icon on mac
Hold down 'ctrl' and click the offending icon..it may give you the option to delete or get info on it.
