Hey everyone,
I'm all new to this lan stuff and am wanting to connect a dell and a hp laptop together but am needing assistance. I have got a cat5 cable to connect the two and have got so far as to making a shared network but when it comes to playing the game and i create a game and search for it on the other computer it is non-existant. Can someone out there please help

Is the cable connecting your two computers going directly from PC to PC, or are you connecting both to a central 'router' device?
What operating system (version of Windows) are both computers running?
