Whenever I set up a mail program be it Windows Mail or Outlook the program automatically searches for the settings. The initial search is always for “Encrypted” mail settings for which there are none. It then completes the setup with the non-encrypted settings. Q1. What is an encrypted mail service and is it the “norm” and what does it accomplish compared to a non-encrypted service? Q2. If it is the "norm" then can I get encrypted with Bigpond or does it not matter providing I have a good anti-virus program?
