Check out www.speedtest.net its one of the better testing sites that around, however you will find they are still not 100%. It should give you a close to right test whoever.

Remember that for every 1024 Kb = 1Mb... So just whip out your calculator...

Have a look at Ozspeed test - it offers testing based on ISP so may give a more accurate result if your ISP is listed.

We recently added a new ISP as backup in case one ISP fails. We conducted extensive speedtests. We used the following:

speedtest.net speakeasy.net/speedtest

The results vary depending on the server you choose. And they are not necessarily 100% accurate. But at least you get an idea of your connection speed especially when comparing 2 ISPs.
