I want to set up a dial-up server on my machine so that I can allow someone with Windows XP to access my network (mainly to play network games that don't have modem2modem available such as Warcraft 3 and possibly to access my files and internet connection).
I've installed the Dial-Up server option in Windows ME and I've set up the dial-up connection in the Windows XP machine. Problem is, when the XP machine connects to my ME machine, it asks for a username, password and domain name, then the XP system gets an error message indicating that either the user is not registered or the domain name is incorrect.
I've set up my home lan network as a workgroup, and hence I have no domain name, so I don't really know what to fill in for the domain name. My lan network is a simple one .. 3 computers connected to an ADSL 10MBps router. I know it would be easier to set up the server on the XP machine, but I rarely get access to it. If the problem is with the registered users, then how do I register a user on my machine?
Can anybody give me a guide as to how I should set the machines up?
Thanks
