When I logon to my ISP, it can lock me out of my system. I get connected but line has no usage, cannot start application, and hard to disconnect. Once disconnected all applications I tried to open, open. Some times it takes half an hour to get the system connected to internet.
This problem only happens on my Medion Titanium MD 8080 XL PC and on my Dial-up and broadband connections.

When that happens, disconnect and restart the PC. Do not reconnect and see if that happens. Because it only happens on that PC, it sounds like it could be a memory leak or process spike. Next time that happens go to task manager and see what is hogging your system resourses.

It happened to me to but when I installed Zonealarm it stopped. Do you have a firewall" If you dont you could just install SP2 but i recomend that you use Zonealarm
