I've had a Kodak ZI8 for about a month and its been great. But now it gives me some message with a red warning saying
"an error occurred and to transfer the videos/pictures to your computer, then format (erase) the card or internal memory."
but it won't let me access the videos that are on there. is there anyway to save these movies or fix this problem so it doesn't happen again?
TIA

corrupted card
Hi Jillybean,
The problem you are having is a sign that your media card has been corrupted. For starters, you will probably want to replace the media card with a new one for future use.
The data you have saved on your corrupted media card might be lost, but there is still some hope. The first thing to try would be to put the media card into another device (like the media card slot in your PC if you have one) and see if you can save them that way.
If that doesn't work, then a file recovery tool might be the solution. In the past, I had some success with a free program called Recuva (http://www.piriform.com/recuva) to save valuable photos from a media card that showed up as being empty one day.
You might need to format your card before being able to read it. If you do a quick format of the media card, it should leave the files intact, allowing you to use a file recovery tool to save them once it's done.
Hope this helps.
