Images don't show. (5 posts)

Every time I do an image search through Google, Yahoo etc; very rarely do any of the images appear. I currently use Firefox but have also tried other browsers such as Internet Explorer 7 & Safari with the same results. I have the latest Java installed on my PC. Images on other web pages show up with no problem at all. The problem occurs on 2 separate PC's. One PC is AMD based with GeForce6200 GPU & the other PC is Intel based with ASUS EAH3450 GPU. Can someone please tell me why the images won't appear?

Thanks.

Re: Images don't show.

Hi Shazz,

Have you tried the same search string on other PC's - say a friends or public PC?

Depending on the type of search you are trying to do, it may be the result of a internet filter - both google and yahoo include this (which are cookie base and can be changed via their options page), as well as many public locations, internet security software, and even ISP/Government filters. So depending on the type of image search you are trying it may not be allowed in your location.

Are you able to give an example of the search string you are attempting?

You may also wish to try and clear your internet temp files, and check your internet security settings via the tool bar in each of the browsers.

Hope this helps,

Re: Images don't show.

You haven't explained the problem very well. Do you mean that if you want to look for a picture say, of an elephant, and you put "elephant" in a Google search box and you get no hits ? Or, if you go to a website, any website, graphics on the web page don't show up?

Most, if not all, browsers have a function in the "options" to browse without images, i.e. text only, so web pages load quicker. Most useful to someone on a dialup connection.

Please try to explain your problem a different way. I don't think your processor/s come into the equation at all.

Check under Tools/Options/Content see if load images is ticked

Images don;t show

I'm also experiencing this problem on my user settings. Sometime ago I changed something so not all colour would display and therefore would speed up my interenet download time. But now I want to see all images and I cannot remember what to undo. On my daughters settings she has all images displayed so I can check her settings but don;t know where to start - can someone help?
