Gurus,

All of a sudden I seem to have lost video in WMP 11. Audio OK. Rolled back and re-installed with no change. Video is viewable in Nero Showtime so I believe that it's not the fault of the file.

Any suggestions?

Give WMP the flick Dick and download VLC media player, it will play just about anything. It's freeware and you can get it at www.videolan.org/vlc/

Have reformatted and reloaded seeing that I couldn't resolve the issue. Believe it or not - the problem is still there to a degree. I have a genuine Nero and a now using Showtime to view videos. The only thing though is Nero takes forever to load.

I've given up on trying other fixes.

Not only was I having a problem with WMP 11 but also Nero application.

Found a fix for this perplexing problem. Google had a post from another person. His system running ATI video card and their Catalyst Control Centre (CCC). Fix was to remove CCC. I removed the offending software and I'm now back in operation.

I have placed a ticket on AMD to ask if they have had reports on this issue. Will let you all know.

Forgot to mention that I also didn't have any preview video when compiling DVD slide show in Nero.

I also addressed the problem with Nero who were at a loss too.

ATI (AMD) are still adamant that CCC is NOT the cause of the issue despite the fact that each time I install any flavour of CCC- video disappears.

Luckily I can get by without CCC so I'll let the matter drop.
