GeForce troubles with games (4 posts)

Allo all,

I have an nVidia GeForce FX 5700LE, 256mb memory, and the latest drivers, and every game I play (Medal of Honor Pacific Assault, Star Wars Battlefront) are laggy with mouse input and gameplay input.

Now MoHPA was always laggy but there was a patch for that. I downloaded it and installed it but it was still the same, just like i didnt even install the patch. Before I even had MoHPA I used to play SW:B and it was never laggy (with the same, latest graphic drivers) and now it is laggy.

Ever since MoHPA started lagging all my other games have started lagging. I find this rather odd. I run my graphics details and character textures on high because the GPU I have can handle it. But even when I run it on low it still laggs. It's pissing me off. I can't even sit down and enjoy MoHPA, the game all my mates are telling me is soooo good.

If anyone has any idea as to what could be wrong then please dont hesistate to tell me.

Thanx in advance

Dale Majid ;o)

P.S. I am 15 and know my way around a computer so dont be afraid to use "pc jibberish" lol

Re: GeForce troubles with games

Hi Dale,
If you have an older processor (pre 1ghz) you will definitely be having the problems you describe. No matter how good the graphics card is. If your processor is a 1.5ghz or faster you should set up the drivers for your card as described here.

1 Set the graphics back to standard VGA and reboot.
2 Reinstall directX 9c and reboot.
3 Reinstall your Nvidea drivers and reboot.

This is the only way to set up almost all Nvidea cards in Windows. All should be sweet now if your processor is good enough.
Regards.

Ben.

Re: GeForce troubles with games

Yeah man, I got a Pentium 4 3.0GHz processor so my proccessor isn't the problem.

Thanx for your help man ;o)

Re: GeForce troubles with games

Hi Dale,

Could be your drivers. I downloaded and installed the latest Nvidia driver about a week ago and some of my games wouldn't run - I uninstalled them and reinstalled the old drivers - problem solved.

Hope this helps
