Key-board locked up on game. (3 posts)

I had a Pentium 4, Intel 1.6GHz with Geforce2 MX400 video card, 128Mb ram and 40G HD, after installing the pc game extreme-G XG2(1998 by Acclaim), my O/S is Win98se, the min requirements for this game are :DirectX 5.0 or higher, DirectX compatible sound card and 4 Mb PCI video card with PII-233 recommended.

After installation and clicking the Icon, the screen just keep displaying 3D graphics without displaying control panel and keyboard was locked-up since, can't get exit even try Ctrl Alt Del.

I downloaded from Nvidia latest detonator XP driver from the Net, but without any success.

When I double clicked the latest driver and opened up the game again! It just keeps locking up and it will exit when I press Ctrl Esc.

Please help me fix this problem, I just wonder why it works on a Pentium II PCI video card but it doesn't work on a Pentium 4X AGP card?

Please send me the reply ASAP.Many thanks. From Winston,Sydney

Re: Key-board locked up on game.

Do you have the correct version of DirectX installed for your video card driver? If you are using the latest drivers DirectX 8.0 or 8.1 is probably needed to be installed.

Re: reply from Peter Bahrij, many thanks !!!

Dear Peter Bahrij

I had directX 8.0a installed on my C:drive, but I simply don't know how to connect the game with DirectX 8.0a (when you try to click open the game icon ). Also I had the latest driver downloaded from Nvidia, but once again how would I connect those 3 things in a folder to make it interact each other? Please show me how, it would be most appreciated.

I did refer to the article on Helpscreen : Games, title: 3D Games lockup, posted Fri Sep 07 by Paul Sherry and he got the replies from Nick O and Buck Rogers who had fixed Paul's problem. But from time to time, I will do the research and ask question from games'player and expert in order that this problem would eventually be fixed, whether it is hardware or software and Why and How ??? I would be very patient indeed. Guys, please help me solve this problem,it would be Great Help!

Best regards all! Please DO NOT hesitate to write to me. Many Thanks, as always.

Winston
