Would appreciate anyones experence with joysticks. Any recommendations. Any problems with various models.

Personally I like the thrustmaster products. Plenty of features, robust and a reasonable price. Apart from their hotas stick that is. It looks nice but at around $500.00 you would have to be a serious flightsim jockey to want it.

I have their dual power gamepad for platform type games and their fox 2 for flight sims.

You can buy joysticks from the cheap $30 to anything over $500 on the market.

Thrustmaster has even a model that is a replica of the controls in a F16 but the price is around the top end.

I've got a zxThrustmaster USB joystick and for $30 I'm happy with it.

I would recommend it - even if its just for starters. You might find that the type of joystick you want will depend on the types of games you play.
